My name is Mayumi. For eleven years I have been photographing people — first in California, and now from my portrait studio in Innsbruck. Every session is something I direct personally, in a space designed to feel less like a studio and more like a day with someone who already sees you clearly. I have devoted my life to one moment — the precise, irreversible instant when you look at a photograph of yourself and recognize, perhaps for the first time, exactly who you are.
