MY NAME IS MAYUMI ACOSTA & I’M A PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER
Making everyday people feel and look beautiful and confident in portraits has been my passion for the past nine years. I strongly believe there is beauty in every person and to me, a portrait is a door for exploration, recognition and celebration of your inner strength and power. Getting that perfect shot is my job and I not only LOVE what I do, I am obsessed with the transformative experience I provide through a portrait experience. I have photographed thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds and I love doing it. Capturing beauty in people and helping them see their own allure is my expertise and enlightens my soul.
To me is a privilege to be able to bring both the art and the story behind every person I photograph.
I call my work “portraits from the heart” because I believe a portrait can reach a level where we are no longer seeing the image but actually feeling it. This essentially is the result of the strong connection I create with my clients. I love making them feel comfortable in their own skin, seeing their confidence flourish in front of my lens and their faces light up when they hold their portraits for the first time is my greatest joy and honor. I enjoy providing a celebrity experience to everyday people, an experience that is transformative and life-changing.

Mayumi started her photography career in 2014 and in 2017 she entered the international accreditation program with The Portrait Masters. An international accreditation program explicitly for portrait photographers and a recognition of ‘high professional standard’ which ensures that clients are working with the true professionals of the industry. Through her accreditation journey Mayumi has been awarded multiple silver and bronze awards and has been placed in the top 20 with several entries in the contemporary, family and boudoir categories. Since 2022, Mayumi is an accredited Fellow Portrait Photographer and one of the 19 photographers worldwide to hold a Fellow status with The Portrait Masters. Mayumi Acosta’s portrait studio is located in Innsbruck-Austria. The warm and inviting space offers personalised attention and comfort and features a stylish wardrobe and dressing room, a makeup room, a photo studio with a great variety of lighting setups, exclusive hand painted backdrops and studio props tailored to each individual client. With 8 years of experience, Mayumi brings a truly intimate approach to her services, customising every session to meet client’s needs and style while providing a memorable portrait experience. Her ultimate goal is to create empowering photographs that will be treasured for generations to come.
