SUE WALTERS
Our family wanted to do a family photo session for the new year. I was so delighted to find Mayumi Acosta Photography, who is incredible! The first time we met Mayumi she was very professional and made us feel comfortable. From start to finish I’d say it was a very memorable experience. Hair and makeup was a plus for me as I am the only female in a family of six (myself, my husband and our 4 boys). She did a great job of preparing us for the shoot and everything went smoothly. As I mentioned we have 4 boys ranging from 19-3 years of age. Mayumi was very patient, worked with us in helping make our 3 year old smile! I was truly amazed by the results. My husband and I both agree on how experience and passionate Mayumi is in how she does her work. It really shows in her photos and most importantly we enjoyed our time. We will cherish these beautiful images for a lifetime and can’t wait to share it with friends and family! Thank you again so much, Mayumi! We can’t stop telling people about our experience and how talented you are! You are truly special!! God bless!!

Mayumi is a wonderful photographer! she calls her photographs "Portraits from the heart" and when I saw my family pictures that is exactly what I felt.... When I contacted Mayumi, I wanted to have my first family pictures taken. We had reunited after 10 years. We were very excited and nervous, and Mayumi was exceptional at making us feel comfortable and relax. She captured our joy, love and all the emotions we were experiencing and that came through in each and every picture. Photographs are forever, and I can forever remember that beautiful moment I shared with my family. Thank you Mayumi!
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.

Mayumi is an amazingly talented photographer and beautiful soul. I am so grateful to have worked with her!!! I loved every part of this process from start to finish. We decided to go with Mayumi for our engagement photos because of her impressive female portraiture and beautiful artistic sensibilities -- and she did not disappoint! We had a consultation to start where Mayumi explained what the photo shoot would be like, all the prices for her packages, all the dresses and outfits we could choose from... We stayed in touch until our shoot day sharing ideas back and forth. It was really fun to share our inspiration and watch it spark even more creativity. On the day of our shoot, I felt so special and had a blast getting my hair and make up done and trying on all the fancy gowns she has available. Mayumi did an incredible job walking us through our poses and posture. I felt really at ease and comfortable during the whole process. Time flew by! Coming to her studio to see the final images a few weeks later was like a VIP reveal!!! Seeing all the amazing images she captured on the wall and the video she made nearly brought me to tears. Mayumi has a real gift for capturing the beauty and essence in your soul...if you're looking to capture a special moment in time definitely choose Mayumi!

Perhaps a guy's perspective... my wife really enjoyed the experience, and loved the photos. She had only us booked for the day, so we didn't feel rushed, and she cared about the details- we had things to drink, not be stressed, etc. She gave guidance on many things- facial expression, clothes... all the things dull guys like me would like to have some guidance on. The final photos she showed to us were great. They captured my wife's expression, and her true self very well. I didn't want it to be fake, but still wanted the photos to look glamorous, and she nailed it! Have I seen cheaper deals elsewhere? Yes, sure, but I'm very glad that we went with Mayumi since the photos look timeless, and captured "us" truthfully, in the best light. I would say the photos represent the best version of us. (It's not 100%, of course, we didn't like 1 or 2 of the 36 photos she showed us... and I say that's an amazing success rate!) So... if a man inside yourself is telling you that there's better bang for the buck, or doubt whether your lady would enjoy the experience... here's my two cent, go with Mayumi and you'll feel comfortable and cared for during the shooting, and you'll be impressed with the results.

Mayumi is a gifted photographer. From the first session my daughter and I had she made us feel comfortable and free to be ourselves. She captures the very essence of who we are. Mayumi gives great direction and her passion gives me a sense of security and I know I can trust that the final outcome will be a beautiful piece of art. Not only have I come to appreciate her talent but we've become friends. I had Mayumi do my mother daughter portraits last year and just recently she did my daughter's senior portraits. I can't think of having anyone else capture those special moments in life that are yet to come.
